In Mesa, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Arizona, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Mesa is in Arizona, in the Southwest, where the desert climate brings very hot summers, mild sunny winters and the summer monsoon; outdoor businesses shift their hours toward early mornings and evenings in the hottest months. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Mesa follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Getting great customer service is a breath of fresh air. I ordered equipment direct from Cub Cadet and the manufacturer was giving me the run around with a back ordered part. Richard was on it calling Cub Cadet on my behalf and in constant communication with me - even though technically it wasn’t his problem. Any future lawn equipment or parts in need I will only be ordering from this company. I can’t recommend them enough!

I brought in my relatively new Ego battery powered string trimmer as it was jammed. This has been an on going issue with this string trimmer. Manny at the help desk identified the issue as having the wrong size string line. I must have missed this information in the manual. Anyway, he put in the correct size 95, vs. the size 80 that was too small and getting tangled up and jammed. The trimmer was fine; the reason it jammed was that it had the wrong size line (I note this in case it helps other people check what size line goes in a trimmer to avoid this issue). Manny gave me the new line in the correct size at no charge “for all the trouble it gave me “. Now THAT is a good business man. We’ve gone to Mow Power for over 10 years and have had consistently positive experiences there. We recommend Mow Power.

I brought in a relatively new husky gas blower that would not start. I was told they would call with a price in a couple weeks. They called and said it was unrepairable. I came to pick it up and they charged me $30. All of their pricing is posted on large signs, and nowhere on the wall, or on the counter, was it posted and I was not told about this in advance. When I questioned it the gal at the counter was borderline rude and she got someone else. He said it is not posted, but I should know that is the “industry standard”. I have never had anything repaired and am not in the “industry”, so maybe a sign would be nice. He showed me the claim ticket paper, that they give you as a receipt at the end of the transaction, and it the fine print at the bottom it did read the $30. But again, it is thank you we will be in touch, and they hand me a paper. I would not have minded paying the $30, I understand that someone took time to look at the blower, but not telling people in advance the cost, that is shady. When I was leaving a man dropped of what looked like a very chainsaw that wasn’t running, and probably not worth $30—but again they did not tell him there was a charge and I am sure he
